Long-time PGA professional Joe Cheves, 89, died on July 31 in Morganton, N.C. Cheves qualified and played in two U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, 10 Senior PGA Championships and three U.S. Senior Opens. He also qualified for two PGA Professional National Championships. He was a four-time winner of the Carolinas PGA Seniors and a three-time runner-up. He was the club professional at Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club for 30 years. … ClubCorp appoints Daniel Tilley as executive vice president, chief information officer, and Ingrid Keiser as chief legal officer and secretary. … Countryside Country Club in Clearwater, Fla., will begin renovations on its main clubhouse lobby this fall.
