Westmont, Ill., – The United States Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) and other leaders of the ‘Para-Golf’ movement, participated in a panel which will be available for all PGA Show virtual attendees to watch on Friday, January 29 from 12.20 pm- 12.55 pm, titled, ‘Disability Inclusion in the Game of Golf: The Need, The Method, The Impact.’
The panelists consist of five inspiring individuals in the golf industry who support PARA-GOLF, a movement across the country that provides an important opportunity for people with disabilities. The movement supports golfers with disabilities and provides therapeutic, rehabilitative, and camaraderie benefits. This movement uses a full gamut of inclusion elements, with golf as the primary connector.
The panel at the Virtual PGA Show features: EQ Sylvester,Chairman and Founder of the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance, whose mission is to make playing golf a reality for the 20 million people with disabilities who would like to play the game; Chris Nowak, U.S. Marine Corps, Retired; PGA of America Military and Veteran Liaison; working with PGA Hope, which stands for ‘Helping our Patriots Everywhere’ and is the flagship military program of PGA Reach, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America; Yvette Pegues, Diversity & Inclusion Executive, Keynote Speaker, Co-Founder and CEO of Your Invisible Disability Group – created to “Empower, Equip, Educate and Include Individuals with Disabilities; Jonathan Snyder, Director of Golf Operations for Freedom Golf Association and is the National Adaptive Golf Director for the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance; Dave Windsor, an award-winning PGA of America Teaching Professional and Player Development consultant and the Adaptive Golf Director of the Georgia State Golf Association and the Adaptive Golf Association.
Ann Liguori, President, Ann Liguori Productions, Inc., Sports Talk Show Host, Golf Correspondent and Author, moderates the panel.
“As one of the leaders of the Para-Golf movement, the USAGA is proud to include many individuals with disabilities in this great game of golf,” says Sylvester. “The USAGA provides instruction, rules and etiquette, national and international competitions for all people with disabilities. The USAGA has proven over the years that ‘now everybody can play golf’ and presently is providing this opportunity for nearly 40,000 golfers with disabilities annually through USAGA’s thirty-eight adaptive golf member organizations.”
The USAGA committee organizational structure provides adaptive golf expertise, competition standards and ranking, and its para-golf women’s committee, growing the inclusion of women with disabilities in golf.
