USGC Will Conduct National Finals Qualifier At 29th Annual ING Spring Conference
LAKE MARY, FL – The United States Golf Challenge will conduct a National Finals Qualifying Tournament at the 29th Annual ING Spring Conference in Sebring, FL, this May.
The conference is set for May 19-23, 2019 at the SEVEN Sebring Raceway Hotel, formerly the Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center in Sebring, Florida.
The non-profit International Network of Golf, the industry’s only media-based networking organization, conducts this annual gathering of media and golf companies and leaders. ING is “where the media and golf industry connect.”
Anyone in the golf industry and media is invited to join ING and attend the conference. Call 407-474-0531 for details.
The USGC National Qualifier will take place on Monday morning, May 20 at Highlands Ridge North in Avon Park. The format is two-player team best ball. ING attendees wishing to play in this event can find a partner and enter as a two-player team, or ING will pair individuals to create a team.
The winning duo will earn a complimentary entry into the USGC National Championship, set for Sept. 12-14 at Legends Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.
At Myrtle Beach, teams will compete in the 54-hole National Championship with hopes of earning a spot on Team USA for the 2020 International King’s Cup, to be conducted in Ireland. That will be the fifth International King’s Cup, named in honor of Arnold Palmer.
The United States Golf Challenge™ is in its 5th season of identifying the best 2 person amateur teams in the country. 8 teams in 4 flights, in two age divisions, represent Team USA in a Ryder Cup® style competition with their Irish counterparts in the International King’s Cup™.
There will be other golf competitions at the ING Spring Conference, including a Team Scramble tournament on Monday for those who do not wish to compete in the USGC qualifier. Also, the 12th Annual Durland Cup will be played Wednesday morning at Sun ‘N Lake Golf Club. It is named in honor of former sports writer Larry Durland, who served as the ING Golf Committee Chair for many years before passing the reins to Jim Smith.
The ING Spring Conference will feature a full schedule of networking and educational events:
• ING One-On-One Appointment Show: This is a series of 15-minute, private meetings between exhibitors and attendees.
• ING Demo Lab: Attendees test the latest equipment, training aids and instructional tips on the range and putting green.
• EDUCATION: Sessions include the Entrepreneurs Panel, Generational Marketing, Social Media Marketing and more.
• GOLF: Various golf tournaments will be conducted, both in team and individual formats. Included is a local qualifier for the U.S. Golf Challenge National Championship.
