V1 Sports Congratulates Instructor Mike Schy and Bryson DeChambeau on Second Straight FedEx Cup Playoff Win
Leading V1 instructor and one of the games top young players are creating a pathway to winning using technology and science
Novi, MI – V1 Sports, producers of the leading golf video instruction technology platform for teaching pros and players, congratulates one of its top instructors, Mike Schy, for his work with Bryson DeChambeau who won his second straight FedEx Cup Playoff event at the Dell Technologies Championship.
In addition, the now guaranteed overall leader of the FedEx Cup playoffs going into the Tour Championship this month, was selected on Tuesday by U.S. Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk as one of his four captain’s picks, along with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Schy, who has been working with Bryson since he was 11-years old, sees this as a culmination of focus and staying on task.
“The Ryder Cup is a dream come true for Bryson, and further solidifies his place at the top of the game. His focus and ability to stay on task and believe in his golf swing and methodology during some ups and downs this summer was so impressive. He truly deserves to be part of this team,” said Schy.
DeChambeau, who is just the second player to win the first two playoff events joining Vijay Singh in 2008, shot rounds of 70, 68, 63 and 67 for a winning total of 16-under-par. The self-proclaimed science guy of golf works closely with Schy in utilizing the V1 Sports platform to continue improving his unique golf swing while using one length irons, which have helped him to his third win in 2018.
“Together we have developed an innovative approach that includes V1’s video instruction technology and analysis tools with Bryson’s scientific method,” explains Schy. “V1 allows us to operate effectively through its online platform and mobile apps to work on Bryson’s swing during an event even if I am not onsite.”
Schy, who operates the Mike Schy Golf Performance Institute at Dragonfly Golf Club in Madera, Calif., coached Bryson to an NCAA Championship and U.S. Amateur title in 2015. He has also been a longtime user of the V1 Sports platform, which offers the perfect marriage of video swing technology with Bryson’s scientific approach to the golf swing.
