VALLEY OF THE EAGLES GOLF CLUB NAMED “BEST U.S. REMODEL” BY GOLF MAGAZINE
Valley of the Eagles Golf Club has been named the “Best U.S. Remodel of 2018” by GOLF Magazine in the publication’s December 2018 issue. Set on the site of the former Spring Valley Country Club, Valley of the Eagles was redesigned by Nicklaus Design and officially opened for daily-fee play on August 8th in Elyria, Ohio.
In naming Valley of the Eagles the “Best U.S. Remodel” the editors of GOLF Magazine declared “Spring Valley was forgettable. Valley of the Eagles is anything but. Call it Nicklaus magic.”
Designed to capture the beauty of the Black River Valley, the golf course plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,941 yards from the tips. The course meanders through Black River Valley’s sheer black shale cliffs and along the Black River, with mature elm, oak and ash trees lining the fairways.
“We’re thrilled to be honored in this way by the editors of GOLF Magazine,” said Ray Metz, general manager, Valley of the Eagles. “Everyone – from the Nicklaus Design team to our agronomy and golf staffs – has worked tirelessly over the last two-plus years to deliver an unrivaled golf experience to Northern Ohio residents and visitors.”
Valley of the Eagles’ 24,000 sq. ft. clubhouse features a dining option for golfers and non-golfers alike at the Black River Tavern. Open year-round for lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch, the Tavern offers a comfortable and cozy atmosphere with handcrafted walnut and maple tables, wood accents from timber harvested from the course construction and natural stonework. The Tavern’s lunch and dinner menus offer a mixture of farm-fresh salads, sharable appetizers, gourmet burgers, artisan-prepared meats and homemade desserts. The exceptional food is paired with signature, finely-crafted cocktails, carefully selected wines, and a rotating craft beer selection. The club teamed with local brewer, Sibling Revelry Brewing to create a special Valley of the Eagles Pilsner. Brewed exclusively for Valley of the Eagles, the pilsner is available in a 16 ounce can for enjoyment on the course and is also available on tap in the Black River Tavern.
In addition to dining at The Black River Tavern, the clubhouse also features two state-of-the-art golf simulators for year-round and multi-course enjoyment. The Valley of the Eagles clubhouse makes a terrific venue for weddings, meetings, banquets and golf outings.
Valley of the Eagles is conveniently located at the intersections of highways 90, 80 and 57 — just 25 miles west of downtown Cleveland — in the beautiful Black River Valley, on the border of Cuyahoga and Lorain counties.
