Vattanac Golf Resort Welcomes Staysure Legends Tour for Back-to-back Season Finale Events

September 11, 2026

Troon International venue to host consecutive championships

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Vattanac Golf Resort will welcome the Staysure Legends Tour back to Cambodia in November, with the Troon-managed venue set to host two tournaments over consecutive weeks to conclude the 2026 season.

Following its successful debut on the Legends Tour calendar last year, Cambodia’s premier golfing destination in Phnom Penh will first stage the Vattanac Legends Championship from November 27-29, before the Vattanac Tour Championship from December 4-6 brings the Road to Cambodia and the 2026 season to a close.

The two tournaments will bring major champions, former Ryder Cup players and international stars back to Phnom Penh, reinforcing Cambodia’s position as an elite sports and luxury tourism hub in Asia.

Scotland’s David Drysdale will defend the Vattanac Legends Championship title he won last year after closing with a six-under-par 66 to finish 12-under-par and one shot ahead of Peter Baker and Anthony Wall, ending a 19-year wait for a professional victory.

The return will also see Vattanac Golf Resort introduce the Vattanac Legends Amateur Experience for the first time, offering a limited number of amateur golfers extraordinary access to compete alongside Legends Tour professionals during the opening week.

Unlike a traditional one-day Pro-Am, the Amateur Experience places participants inside the professional tournament environment across three full competitive rounds. Selected amateur golfers will play the tournament course alongside Legends Tour professionals, experiencing the same competitive atmosphere, course setup and tournament operations as the legends of the game.

Playing alongside a Tour professional within a live tournament environment is an experience that simply cannot be replicated through a traditional round of golf or Pro-Am. This is more than playing with a professional – it is the opportunity to experience what it feels like to compete inside a professional golf tournament.

The second week will then turn the focus entirely to the professionals as the Vattanac Tour Championship brings the 2026 Staysure Legends Tour season to a conclusion.

Last year’s Vattanac Legends Championship – Legacy Edition was won by South African Darren Fichardt while Australia’s Scott Hend finished the season as Order of Merit champion.

Neak Oknha Sam Ang Vattanac, Executive Director of Vattanac Group, said: “It is an immense privilege to welcome the Legends Tour back to Cambodia and to build on the success of last year with two consecutive weeks of international championship golf. Our partnership with the Legends Tour is about much more than bringing some of the greatest names in golf to Cambodia. It is about showcasing our country, our culture, our heritage and our hospitality to the world, while inspiring the next generation of Cambodian golfers to dream bigger and believe in what is possible.

“Every successful international event strengthens global confidence in Cambodia and helps showcase our growing potential as a destination for sport, tourism and investment. We are deeply grateful to the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia Tourism Board, National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, Cambodia Golf Federation and all our partners and sponsors for their tremendous support and cooperation in making these championships possible. Our ambition is to build a lasting legacy: bring the best to Cambodia, create the best in Cambodia, and show the best of Cambodia to the world.”

Phil Harrison, Legends Tour CEO, said: “The Legends Tour is thrilled to extend and expand our fantastic partnership with Neak Oknha Vattanac and The Vattanac Group for 2026. Our first visit to Phnom Penh in 2025 was a standout highlight on our global calendar; our players and international delegation were blown away by the pristine quality of the courses and the exceptional hospitality. A two-week schedule featuring both the Vattanac Legends Championship and the Vattanac Tour Championship underlines the rapid rise of Cambodia as a golf tourism destination and the world-class standard set by Vattanac Golf Resort.”

For Troon International, the return of the Legends Tour provides another opportunity to showcase Vattanac Golf Resort and Cambodia to an international golf audience.

DJ Flanders, Executive Vice President of Troon International, said: “Last year demonstrated what Vattanac Golf Resort can offer as a tournament venue, so to have the Legends Tour returning for two consecutive weeks is significant for everyone involved.

“The golf courses provide a strong test, the facilities allow us to look after players and guests at the level expected of an international event, and the Vattanac team gained valuable tournament experience from hosting the Tour for the first time in 2025. It should be a very good fortnight of golf.”

Located on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, Vattanac Golf Resort is home to two championship courses designed by six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo.

The East and West Courses combine Faldo’s strategic design with a series of cultural features inspired by Cambodian cultural history and architecture. Tropical conditions, water hazards and large, strongly contoured green complexes provide a varied test, while the resort’s clubhouse and practice facilities support tournament operations across both weeks.

Vattanac Golf Resort sits at the heart of Vattanacville, a major development by Vattanac Properties bringing together golf, residential, leisure and lifestyle facilities.
