VertaCat, an innovative all-terrain mobility rider for paralyzed and challenged walkers, features cutting-edge technology and engineering prowess, and allows the rider a sit-to-stand, zero friction, experience.
The VertaCat is noted for its unique ability to elevate golfers into a standing position, facilitating a more natural swing, which offers a multitude of advantages for mobility-challenged athletes. Its introduction marks a significant stride in accessibility and inclusivity within the realm of adaptive sports, exemplifying the unwavering commitment of its creators to empower individuals with diverse abilities.
Stand Up USA Inc., a company led by Anthony Netto, and Actus, a longstanding manufacturing business under the guidance of Tim Nicholson, formed the company, ATINSPO, to pioneer the VertaCat.
The VertaCat debuted in July of 2023 at the U.S. Adaptive Open in Pinehurst, N.C.
Max Togisala used a VertaCat to play in that U.S. Adaptive Open, and he secured victory in the seated division, carding a record setting 2 under 70 in the second round and won the seated division by 9 shots. “The VertaCat has changed my life and how I play the game of golf,” shares Togisala. “I owe my victory to the machine and to the amazing people at VertaCat. Standing is a huge privilege for me because it helps with therapy and other activities. And the VertaCat is super easy to use.”
“The VertaCat has emerged as a breakthrough in mobility assistance, with unparalleled stability, power, speed, and easy adjustability,” says co-founder Netto. “The VertaCat’s focus on integrating state-of-the-art electric motors, lithium phosphate batteries, and advanced software, sets it apart. It really is a revolutionary breakthrough in the industry.”
Co-founder Nicholson notes that the VertaCat has garnered widespread acclaim, with shipments extending across the USA, Canada, and select international markets as far as South Africa. “Our diverse clientele encompasses individuals with mobility challenges, golf courses, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and adaptive golf organizations, each benefiting from its revolutionary design and functionality,” adds Nicholson. “Anthony and I are committed to making a big difference in the adaptive community!”
