From July 20 till 23rd, a selection of international lifestyle and EGTMA golf and travel journalists will be descending on the town of Cascais to experience the best the area has to offer.
Cascais has been a first in many things but has traditionally been the playground of royalty. This allowed the town to prosper and the roads, rail road, casino and more brought wealth to the area. It is now one of the most sought after places to live in the whole of Europe.
Golf was played here back in 1929 when Mackenzie Ross designed the Estoril Golf Club. Between then and now, another 6 courses were added to the region’s golf offering, one of which, Oitavos Dunes, is arguable one of Europe’s finest. The whole summer, the Cool Jazz Festival brings some of the world’s best artists to perform in Cascais. During the month of July, Lionel Ritchie, Ben Harper, and Norah Jones are headlining but it will be during the media trip that one of the world’s most renowned singer songwriters, Van Morrison, who will be performing live in Cascais.
Journalists will be exposed to a variety of activities, all the things Cascais is renowned for. There will be golf on some of Portugal’s best courses like Oitavos Dunes, Penha Longa and Quinta da Marinha. Some of Europe’s best fish and seafood will be showcased in the various restaurants in the town and also the Atlantic Ocean will play a prominent part during a boat trip showing what the world’s most adventurous seafarers saw upon their return.
