Designated as The Preferred Weather Insurance Provider of the Carolinas PGA
Overland Park, KS – Bad weather is bad business for golf. As a tournament director, director of golf or head golf professional running an event, you can’t predict the weather but Vortex Weather Insurance can help protect your tournament, your reputation, and ensure that rain won’t drain your event revenue!
For more than a decade, Vortex, a weather-risk insurance agency, has been the leader in rain protection for outdoor events across the country. Since entering the golf market last year, Vortex has seen a rapid acceptance by golf event directors to understand the importance of purchasing rain insurance. To that end, Vortex has focused on building key relationships inside the industry and is pleased to announce it’s renewed and expanded partnership with the Carolinas PGA Section for 2021.
Vortex Weather Insurance has been officially designated as The Preferred Weather Insurance Provider of the Carolinas PGA. This includes being a supporting partner of both the 2021 Carolinas PGA Pro-Assistant Championship and the Pro-Pro Championship. Vortex is currently wrapping up the year as a supporting partner of The 2020 Pro-Pro championship being held December 1-3, 2020 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
“The Pro-Pro Championship is the Section’s and the Nation’s largest professional tournament with more than 2,000 pros participating,” said Jeff Abbott, Executive Director of the Carolinas PGA. “This is a great partnership for the Section and we greatly appreciate Vortex Weather Insurance’s support for 2020-2021.”
This announcement comes at a great time as Vortex recently launched RainIQTM, (Rain Instant Quote), an online rain insurance portal. RainIQ allows the golf industry to obtain instant hourly rain quotes and purchase weather insurance to help protect event revenue for Tour events, Pro-Ams, amateur tournaments, charity fundraisers, corporate outings, and more.
“Vortex Weather Insurance is excited to continue our partnership with the Carolinas PGA Section,” said Eric Anderson, Vortex Insurance Producer and Golf Consultant. “As the largest of the 41 PGA Sections with almost 2000 members, we can impact and protect a significant number of tournaments with RainIQ and help prevent the havoc and lost revenue caused by bad weather.”
By taking advantage of recent advancements made by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), RainIQ (Rain Instant Quote) utilizes localized-gridded weather data. Rainfall is calculated within a 2.5 mile-square box that includes the actual insured location. This innovation by Vortex allows for greater
precision and accuracy – as compared to using an existing weather station as a measurement point that may be ten or even twenty miles away. This allows Vortex to provide data-driven hourly policies that are extremely affordable and help protect a tournament’s bottom line.
RainIQ is unique because ‘proof of loss’ is not required for the insurance to pay a claim. A rain insurance claim occurs simply when the defined rainfall amount is recorded by a verifiable independent and localized source (not at an airport) during the defined coverage period. When rainfall takes your event to cart paths only, but you are able to play through it, rain insurance can help recoup lost revenue. Claim payments are quick (typically received in less than two weeks) to offer immediate financial relief.
