We Are The Fifty Presented by Mizuno Golf Moved to Sept. 18-20
New Dates and Presenting Partner for Inaugural National Event at Hammock Beach Resort & Spa in Florida
April 22, 2020 – The COVID-19 pandemic has forced a change in dates this year for We Are The Fifty (WAT50), a new national golf event designed to bring together the current 50 overall state junior champions. The inaugural WAT50, originally scheduled for June 11-13, is now set for September 18-20. The event remains at its original venue, Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Coast, Florida.
Mizuno Golf has been named the new Official Presenting Partner of the tournament, which is now known as We Are The Fifty Presented by Mizuno Golf.
“The past several weeks have been very difficult and challenging for so many, and we felt it was imperative to move our dates to the fall,” said Ari Flaisher, Founder of WAT50. “We are grateful for Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa, Mizuno Golf, Visit Flagler, and all of our partners and suppliers that support this move, for the safety of all involved. We’re excited about the new dates and being able to bring together talented juniors from across the country. Please be safe and continue to follow federal and state guidelines and recommendations.”
In addition to the overall state junior champions, WAT50 has developed a new championship category for players ages 15 and younger who won either their state title or local Junior PGA title, or placed highest in their age group in an overall state junior championship in 2019. For the inaugural national event, WAT50 will also invite winners from those states that are able to conduct their championships in summer 2020.
Mizuno Golf is committed to assisting juniors from across the nation who will be participating in all four of the age groups at WAT50. The company will host a club demonstration and skills clinic, showcasing its highly anticipated ST200 Series of metal woods created through a collaboration between Mizuno’s Japanese and U.S. R&D teams. The ST200 Series offers a choice of three different head designs in the driver, each with a Beta rich Titanium face and each offering a different ball flight.
“Our passion and our Brand mantra have always been a commitment to the advancement of sport,” said Jeremy Galbreth, Director of Mizuno Golf USA. “When the opportunity to be a part of this event presented itself, we knew our Brand would be a perfect fit to help elevate the experience for these young athletes. This why we are extremely excited to support such an amazing opportunity for the youth in our game.”
Mizuno Golf will also introduce the new RB Tour and RB Tour X golf balls to all WAT50 participants.
