Week 3 BMW Indoor Invitational powered by TrackMan, What a tournament!
The third tournament in the BMW Indoor Invitational series of five is over – and it’s fair to say a great time was had by all! 31 players participated, battling it out on the GC Eichenried course. This week’s winner – and last week’s runner up – is Wil Besseling, who came in 4 under par. Last week’s winner Connor Syme was a close second, trailing Besseling by only two shots. The field also included Martin Kaymer, Max Kieffer, Laurie Canter and Alexander Levy.
Courtesy of BMW, Wil Besseling received $10,000. He split the prize money equally between two Dutch organizations. Donate a Mouth Mask is a non-profit foundation that supplies mouth masks, safety glasses, hairnets and gloves to front line healthcare staff and patients fighting the spread of COVID-19 across Holland. Bake for Life gives vulnerable people in Uganda the opportunity to escape poverty through work and training in the bakery trade. All five Bake for Life bakeries are currently closed due to COVID-19 and their 200 employees have no income. Wil’s donation will help them get back to producing baked goods for their communities.
“I’m really happy to help out some charities by winning this third round.”
Wil Besseling.
This week’s tournament takes place on the legendary Valderrama course. Host to the Volvo Masters from 1988-1996 and again from 2002-2008, Valderrama was rated the top course in mainland Europe by Golf World magazine in 1999. Valderrama was designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1974 and redesigned and expanded in 1984. Valderrama hosted the Ryder Cup in 1997 – the first ever held in continental Europe. Valderrama is the latest addition to TrackMan simulator courses and promises to be a worthy challenge!
