Rancho Mirage, Calif. – The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif. recently welcomed Aaron Garcia as the Pete Dye Resort Course’s new golf course superintendent. Garcia will oversee the agronomy operations of the resort’s 18-hole Pete Dye-designed course, practice facilities and clubhouse landscape maintenance.

Garcia is an accomplished superintendent with more than 12 years of experience and a proven track record of delivering high-quality playing conditions through strong agronomic expertise, disciplined operational management and a commitment to environmental stewardship. Garcia comes to the Westin Rancho Mirage from Indian Wells Golf Resort in nearby Indian Wells where he served as superintendent and led agronomic operations and contributed significantly to the recent Players Course renovation, working alongside architect John Fought. Earlier in his career, he served as superintendent at the PGA West Norman Course and assistant superintendent at The Citrus Club. His experience leading agronomy teams at premier Coachella Valley facilities will be an asset to the Westin Rancho Mirage.

“We are thrilled to welcome Aaron to the Westin Rancho Mirage team as our new golf course superintendent,” said Phil Vigil, PGA Director of Golf at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa. “His extensive expertise in turfgrass management and deep knowledge of the Coachella Valley market will further elevate course conditions and the overall experience for our members and guests.”

Garcia’s arrival coincides with the resort’s Championship greens improvement project on the Pete Dye Resort Golf Course. The course will be closed through July 31st to allow the agronomy team to enhance the putting surfaces to provide a higher-quality experience for resort guests and visitors.

Just a short drive from downtown Palm Springs in Southern California the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa enjoys a prime 360-acre setting in sunny Rancho Mirage boasting luxurious accommodations and championship golf.
