NEW YORK, NY: Whim Golf, an independent, made in the USA premium golf brand, has committed to participating in the three-day PGA Show as a first-time Exhibitor in “The Retreat” at Booth #7641. Whim will debut its line of Merino Wool Performance Shirting along with Merino socks and knit sweaters. Whim Golf is an idea born and raised in America. Each piece is handmade from Merino wool, ethically raised, sheared, spun, knit, dyed, and tailored in the USA. The proprietary supply chain works exclusively with centuries-old American sheep ranchers in California, Colorado, Idaho, and Nevada.
All wool is sourced from ranches certified under the Responsible Wool Standard and NATIVA, ensuring the highest standards of welfare for the sheep and regenerative farming practices for the land they graze on. For their ranchers, sustainability is not a trend – it’s a way of life and a means of producing premium wool while maintaining integrity of the land for years to come. Merino Wool is both extremely durable and completely biodegradable, reinforcing its position as a truly sustainable material.
PGA Show attendees can experience the brand by scheduling an appointment with WHIM founders Will Gisel and Colin Heaberg on the appointment calendar. About WHIM:
Whim is an independent golf brand making 100% Merino Wool apparel, proudly in the USA. Since the beginning, our goal has been to help advance golf in a way that’s thoughtful, creative, and scalable. Through our Free Golf Initiative, we design and build open access putting greens in the most densely populated urban areas of the USA. This gives people who are generally underrepresented on the course the chance to walk by, pick up a golf club, and discover their love for the game.
About the Founders:
Will and Colin met at America’s oldest YMCA camp in 2003 and bonded over their shared love of art, design, and sports. While collaborating throughout the years, the idea for an American made golf brand emerged, and in 2014 they founded Whim. As an extension of the brand’s limited edition clothing drops, they created a free putting green in Chicago, and soon after opened another in New York City. This became the Free Gold Initiative. As the brand evolved, they recognized the need for completely made in the USA, sustainable golf apparel, and discovered the paragon of Merino wool.
