Patrick Koenig Shatters World Record by Playing 560+ Rounds of Golf in a Single Year
Seattle, WA – When Patrick Koenig sinks his last putt on the 18th hole of Chambers Bay golf course on January 2, 2024, he says he will breathe a major sigh of relief…or accomplishment. Or perhaps, simply launch into his signature kick move.
The RGV Tour 2.0, Koenig’s year-long quest to play 18-hole rounds at as many courses as possible, will be officially concluded and the world record shattered.
Since January 2023, Koenig has traversed the country in a fully outfitted recreational vehicle, playing 18 or 36 holes of golf daily in his quest to set the world record, while simultaneously raising funds for First Tee of Greater Seattle and other local charities. He set the new world record of 450 courses back in October at Colorado’s Omni Interlocken Golf Club.
His effort is sponsored by Golf Game Book, the #1 digital scorecard and social golf app where Koenig records all rounds and uploads exclusive social content. Koenig—a talented photographer and blogger—has played an array of courses; from municipal to revered private country clubs, as he visually showcases the quality and diversity of golf in America.
“This year has been one of the most challenging and rewarding years of my entire life,” Koenig said. “From Walmart parking lots to Shinnecock Hills, I have experienced many highs and many lows. But without a doubt the most rewarding part of my journey has been the people that have joined in along the way.”
Koenig is extending the public an opportunity to participate in the very final moments of The RGV Tour at Chambers Bay and become part of golf history.
This year-long trek has been no small feat, as the routing, planning, scheduling, and driving can take a physical toll.
