Why Did Performance Golf Founder Brixton Albert Step Down as CEO of His $100M+ Company?

October 21, 2026

Todd Brown takes over as CEO as Albert shifts his focus to product innovation and strategic partnerships after building a company that has helped more than 1.4 million golfers.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Performance Golf, the leading game improvement ecosystem that has helped more than 1.4 million golfers since its founding in 2016, recently announced that Florida-based entrepreneur and marketing coach Todd Brown has been named its Chief Executive Officer. Founder Brixton Albert, who has led the company since its first online video course, will move into the role of Founder and Chairman, where he will concentrate on product innovation and strategic partnerships designed to improve the experience of every golfer who uses the platform.

“We’re proud to have such an expert operator and business leader as Todd Brown take on the role of Performance Golf’s CEO,” Albert said. “He’s going to be such a great motivator while running the day-to-day foundational organizational systems, processes, measurements, and reporting cadence that companies need to be a well-oiled machine. In turn, that frees me up to find and focus on the projects that are going to give golfers the most personalized and thorough game improvement experience.”

Todd Brown – CEO of Performance Golf

For more than two decades, Brown has helped entrepreneurs build businesses through direct response marketing, customer acquisition, and profitable growth. Known for popularizing the use of unique mechanisms in modern direct response marketing, alongside his work on the use of big marketing ideas and marketing arguments, Brown’s relationship with Performance Golf began roughly eight years ago, when Brown consulted Albert on one of the company’s first major marketing campaigns.

“Watching Brixton over the years, I see that when he commits to something, he executes,” Brown explains. “Performance Golf has had zero outside financing and it has grown into a tremendous brand in golf with nine-figure sales numbers. With a senior leadership team that is second-to-none, Brixton’s visionary and intentional approach, and this finely tuned game improvement ecosystem, we’re really poised to drive this business into the stratosphere.”

Albert and Brown point out that golf’s remarkable post-pandemic growth has created an unprecedented opportunity for Performance Golf. More than 48 million Americans now participate in golf, a 41 percent increase since 2019 (according to the NGF). That includes millions of new and returning players drawn to the game through traditional courses, driving ranges, simulators, and entertainment venues.

The industry’s prodigious surge has captivated a new generation of golfers eager to delve deeper into the game by improving their skills. After all, lowering their scores means they will enjoy the game more and play more often.

Performance Golf recognized this opportunity early, developing an expanding lineup of products, instruction and technology designed to help everyday golfers play better. Having already helped more than 1.4 million players, the company is well-positioned to reach millions more as participation soars. The Performance Golf ecosystem gives players convenient access to the equipment, coaching, and game-improvement tools they need to build confidence, improve their performance, and stay engaged with the game.

Over the past decade, Performance Golf has quietly grown into one of the industry’s most comprehensive game-improvement platforms. Its offerings range from the PG1 mobile app, which delivers personalized lessons, tips and practice drills, to live instruction, training aids, supplements and innovative golf equipment. Together, these products and services form an interconnected system designed to address golfers’ individual swing and scoring challenges, regardless of their skill level or experience.

With that foundation in place and millions more golfers looking for ways to improve, Performance Golf is entering its next phase of growth. For founder Albert, stepping away from the CEO role creates an opportunity to concentrate on what he believes will drive the company’s future: developing better products, building strategic partnerships, and creating an even more personalized experience for golfers.

“Where I’m focused now is on product innovation to make the products better for our customers, and strategic partnerships, particularly big partnerships that can give Performance Golf increased visibility, so people can grow their love for the game more and reach their full potential,” Albert explains. “We want to push all the ways we can own the space of game improvement across multiple product categories. The Performance Golf experience will become more personalized, connected and motivating to the golfer, routinely meeting them where they are in their game, their practice schedule, their goals, and their big miss at the time. Golfers will notice that we’re delivering a more dialed-in user experience.”

Brown and Albert also plan to strengthen the Performance Golf brand’s position in the marketplace while keeping and refining the marketing efficiencies that built the company. “We will see more and more establishment and recognition of the brand while still being powered foundationally by direct response,” Brown said. “We’re making sure we create needle-moving products for game improvement and constantly get better at communicating those products. We can become the most trusted instruction brand in the space by joining the golfers in our ecosystem on their personal game improvement journey and always giving them the support and tools they need at the right time.”

Performance Golf has recently released a wide array of innovative products, including the AI-powered PG1 mobile app (with real-time, personalized swing video feedback and a treasury of prescribed video lessons from the game’s top teachers), the breakthrough RS1 Putter, which positions more than 75 percent of the head weight in front of the shaft axis for a more stable and square stroke, and the Lil’ Legends golf training system for toddlers, which makes properly learning golf more intuitive, playful, and rewarding.
