Morton Golf and Bing Maloney Golf Course is excited to announce the homecoming of PGA Class A Member Willie Toney, a former Olympic Club Golf professional, who is taking up the mantle as the new Head Golf Professional. This highly-anticipated appointment marks a triumphant return for Toney, a Sacramento native and a highly respected figure in the world of golf. Toney grew up in a home just left of the 11th fairway as a child and his very first job was working at the Bing Maloney GC.
Willie Toney is no stranger to the golfing world, having established an impressive track record during his tenure at the prestigious Olympic Club in San Francisco. Toney’s leadership, teaching prowess, and passion for golf were instrumental in fostering a vibrant golfing community and nurturing numerous young talents there at the club.
“Bing Maloney Golf Course holds a special place in my heart,” said Toney. “I started my golfing journey right here in Sacramento, and it’s an honor to be able to come back and contribute to the golfing community that helped shape me as a professional.”
Toney brings nearly three decades of golfing experience to the role, and his well-honed skills and deep understanding of the sport will be invaluable in mentoring players and promoting golf to a wider audience. Before his golf career, his stint working for Nordstrom helped shape his high IQ in dedicated customer service. His return signifies Bing Maloney’s ongoing commitment to providing top-tier golfing experiences in a great municipal neighborhood golf setting.
