CHICAGO — Wilson Sporting Goods Co. today announces the launch of Triad, the company’s new three-piece, urethane-covered golf ball for the modern athletic golfer. Built with exclusive T3 Technology, Triad combines high MOI design, an ultra-thin urethane cover and patented Tri-Balanced™ construction to provide total performance from tee to green.
“Wilson Golf has strong heritage in building premier products for golfers at all levels. We are very excited to introduce this innovative golf ball for a growing community of competitive players who want to take their game to the next level,” said Tim Clarke, General Manager, Wilson Golf. “The competitive golfer striving to break 80 is who Wilson Labs had in mind while engineering the T3 Technology of Triad, allowing for pinpoint accuracy from anywhere on the course.”
Testing shows that against competitive three-piece urethane golf balls, Triad is the fastest off the tee and the highest spinning off a wedge.* Its unique construction delivers long and stable flight that helps golfers find more fairways, allows for higher iron and wedge spin to attack more pins, and has the uniform density for pure roll to sink more putts.
Triad features include:
- High MOI-Design
To achieve a higher moment of inertia (MOI) in Triad, weight was moved from the core to the mantle and cover – a philosophy long used in club design to improve torsional stability – brought into ball design for the first time. The result is a ball that spins less when fully compressed off a driver, making for straighter flight bound for more fairways.
- Ultra-Thin Urethane Cover
The ultra-thin cast urethane cover engages longer with the clubface on short irons and wedges, generating controlled ball flight and greater spin to attack pins with confidence.
- Tri-Balanced™ Construction
The patented, tri-balanced construction effectively removes any concern of manufacturing inconsistencies such as off-center cores commonly found in other multi-layer golf balls. Wilson density balanced all three layers to deliver uniformity from layer to layer, ensuring perfect balance and pure roll.
In conjunction with the ball, Wilson today unveils “Team Triad,” a collective of golfers representing the ideals of the athletes that Triad will help the most. Team Triad will be captained by golf instructor and social media personality, Manolo Vega, who introduces the concept in exclusive content released today.
Triad joins Staff Model and Duo Soft+ golf balls to offer players of all levels the perfect Wilson products for their playing style. The Triad ball will be available on Wilson.com and at select retailers starting Feb. 15 for $39.99 per dozen. To become a part of Team Triad, follow @WilsonGolf on social and use #TrustInTriad to join the conversation.
