WMX Grips Brings Hyper+ Reduced-Taper Design to Standard Size at 50 Grams

October 13, 2026

SEOUL, South Korea – WMX Grips (wmx-usa.com), a multilayer grip manufacturer advancing golf grip performance through materials and precision engineering, today announced the expansion of its reduced taper family with the new Hyper+ Standard, providing players a fuller profile at a traditional Standard size grip weight of 50 grams.

WMX initially introduced Hyper+ in Midsize and Jumbo, focusing first on two increasingly popular larger grip sizes and growing player interest in reduced taper. The addition of the Standard size now extends the same concept to players who prefer a traditional overall grip size but want additional volume through the lower hand.

Compared to the traditional taper Hyper, the new Hyper+ features a fuller overall profile with a straighter taper through the lower portion of the grip, reaching approximately five percent larger through the lower hand. Despite the additional volume, the grip weighs 50 grams, exactly the same as the traditional taper Hyper.

The new profile also reflects WMX’s broader approach to grip design, using multilayer construction to create different sizes and shapes while carefully managing weight. A firm inner core provides stability and torque control, while a thin, soft outer layer enhances feel, traction and durability. By independently engineering these layers, WMX can modify grip dimensions while maintaining the targeted weight, stability and feel.

WMX now offers several options for players who want increased overall size or lower hand volume without a significant increase in grip weight. Hyper+ Standard and Hyper Midsize each weigh 50 grams, while Super+ Midsize weighs just 52 grams.

“Players are increasingly exploring different grip sizes and reduced taper profiles, but changing the shape of a grip doesn’t have to mean unnecessarily changing its weight,” said Kim Hwon, founder of WMX. “Hyper+ Standard gives players another way to find the profile that feels right in their hands while keeping the grip at the traditional Standard weight of 50 grams.”

Hyper+ utilizes the same six-step injection process and dual-layer construction found throughout the Hyper family. Its 360-degree wave texture is designed to promote moisture dispersion and consistent traction throughout the grip, while the symmetrical design provides consistent texture regardless of club orientation.

The new Hyper+ Standard is available now through authorized WMX dealers and online at wmx-usa.com for an MSRP of $23. It is offered in three color combinations:

  • Zen Black
  • Dream Sky Blue / Dark Navy
  • Fun Green / Forest Green

With this new addition, the Hyper+ family is now available in Standard, Midsize and Jumbo, giving players three overall size options built around the same reduced taper design.
