Recruiting, Game Assessment Summit Held November 5-7

(RIDGEFIELD, Conn.) – The Golf Performance Center (The GPC) has announced its College Prep Series – the country’s premier event for college-bound golfers and their parents – will be held November 5-7 with programming exclusively focused on educating girls who aspire to play golf at the collegiate level and their parents.

In partnership with the Junior Golf Hub, the College Prep Series features Division I women’s golf coaches and top PGA professionals in a multi-day, immersive session designed with one purpose in mind: helping aspiring junior females achieve their dreams of playing at the next level. To learn more information and register, visit here.

Players and parents will participate in detailed and guided informational sessions that explain the often-confusing college golf recruiting process. Attendees also have the chance to participate in an interactive roundtable with the head coaches of women’s golf programs from elite NCAA institutions, including Bruce Chalas (Boston University Women’s Golf) and John O’Connor (Quinnipiac University Women’s Golf).

“With this edition of the College Prep Series, we hope to fill a void for women and girls in golf, who continue to be underserved when it comes to education, exposure and opportunities about playing golf at the next level,” says Roger Knick, The GPC’s founder. “Players and parents will leave the College Prep Series with a thorough understanding of both the college recruiting process and what it takes for young golfers to reach the next level.”

Junior golfers who attend the College Prep Series will have the opportunity to undergo a Player Development Index (PDI) Assessment conducted by elite PGA and TPI-certified performance coaches. The PDI Assessment takes a deep, objective look at key skill areas including putting, chipping, bunker play, shot-making, mental proficiency and physical skills, and precisely identifies areas that need improvement. The assessment will result in an Index Score, giving players a number to quantify the state of their game and the ability to track progress toward their goals. Players and parents will leave with a detailed report covering strengths and weaknesses that may be holding them back from college golf.

For more than 20 years, The GPC has successfully guided nearly 100 competitors as they prepare for golf at the highest levels. Alumni include multiple NCAA All-Americans, current and former student-athletes at 80 different colleges and universities and professionals who have won on the Korn Ferry Tour, Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada and European Tour.
