WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – It’s just four weeks until Women’s Golf Day (WGD) 2024 gets underway. This year the annual WGD Palooza, a digital day that kicks off the weeklong celebrations on May 28, will be a social media event capitalizing on the incredible year-on-year growth of the WGD social platforms. “Getting Social- On and Off the Course” is also what women and girls are being encouraged to do when they play at their WGD registered location of choice. This is further amplified through the WGD campaign #BringAFriend.
“Women can be really nervous about trying something new,” explains Founder of Women’s Golf Day, Elisa Gaudet. “This is where the idea of #BringAFriend has really helped our locations get new golfers to participate. We encourage existing golfers to bring a woman that would like to learn to play golf, thus the number of participants at an event immediately doubles. And, because the WGD format incorporates beginners as well as current golfers and has a social element, everyone gets the chance to play with people of similar ability and meet the wider golf community.”
WGD Palooza will take place on May 28th at 10:00 am EST. The content, which will be shared on the 28th and then throughout the week on all @womensgolfday social channels and is being curated by the WGD social team. The content will have the same fun and entertaining videos and giveaways from WGD Partners and WGD itself. To maximize reach and exposure the content will sit permanently on the WGD You Tube and all social channels for people to watch in their own time. https://www.womensgolfday.com/wgdpalooza/
WGD Events will take place around the world from May 28 – June 4, WGD’s anniversary. There are a wide variety of venues taking part. Annual participants, who see their numbers rising year on year, are joined by new locations inspired to celebrate girls and women playing golf. The one thing uniting the private member clubs, simulator venues, retail locations, Major host venues and short courses is the tried and tested 4-hour format of golf followed by a social event.
