WEST PALM BEACH, Florida Women’s Golf Day (WGD) has announced the 2025 recipients of its annual ‘Inspire Action Awards’ at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. Created to recognize people and places that are driving positive change in the golf industry, the 2025 awards celebrate three individuals and three locations that are reaching above and beyond in their promotion of women in golf.
“It’s an honor to announce the 2025 winners of our Inspire Action Awards,” explains founder of Women’s Golf Day Elisa Gaudet. “Going into our 10th year, I’m delighted that we can celebrate such diverse range of people and places who are inspiring action across the globe. As Women’s Golf Day continues to grow, I know that people and places like those celebrated today will be at the forefront of helping us grow the game in meaningful and long-lasting ways for many more years to come.”
News of the 2025 winners comes after Elisa presented outgoing Chief Executive of the R&A, Martin Slumbers, with a lifetime achievement award at the AIG Women’s Open 2024. This award recognized the role Martin has played in growing the women’s game during his tenure.
The winners of the 2025 Inspire Action Awards are:
Sarah Bennett: The former Captain of the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland, Tour professional, renowned coach and fundraiser, Sarah has dedicated her career to encouraging more people to play golf. Known across the world for her achievements in the game, Sarah truly inspires.
Sandy Cross: A member of the PGA of America staff since 1996, Sandy drives the PGA’s diversity and inclusion strategy. She has been instrumental in the success of industry wide initiatives that are increasing participation rates and industry career opportunities for under-represented communities and cultures.
Marlon Weir: Marlon has spent his career promoting golf in developing countries. After successfully establishing WGD in The UAE he moved to Africa, hosting the first ever WGD event in Rwanda in 2024. Over 100 women attended the event. He is passionate about golf in Africa and sincerely believes is the continent holds the key to the future of the game.
Keya Golf Club, Japan hosted its second WGD event in 2024. With an exceptional attendance and a commitment to continue its promotion of female golfers all year round, this exceptional venue is a worthy recipient of an Inspire Action Award.

Bonanza Golf Club, Zambia also began hosting WGD two years ago. A hub for the local community, Bonanza golf club is using WGD as a catalyst for events that encourage women to try golf for the first time and connect them throughout the year.
