900 locations, 52 countries, 25 million engagements: one voice
Women’s golf is enjoying a resurgence that is long overdue. Over the last 5 years, we have seen an increase in the number of female Tour events, mixed events taking root around the globe and a dedicated day to celebrate the female game; Women’s Golf Day. This is the fastest growing movement in golf with more than 900 events taking place in a staggering 52 countries in 2019. As part of its ongoing commitment to have even more golf locations and people participate in Women’s Golf Day on June 2, 2020, the team behind WGD is offering FREE location registration with code VIP2020 to anyone signing up before March 1st.
People around the world are already taking advantage of the FREE offer by signing up for the June 2nd, 2020 global event. The 5th edition of Women’s Golf Day brings with it a new website and an expanding global reach. Women’s Golf Day events now takes place in all continents across the world which means some exciting changes for the campaign as Elisa Gaudet, founder of Women’s Golf Day explains, “We are extremely proud of the number of countries around the world who have embraced Women’s Golf Day. Golf is a fabulous sport that brings people of all nations together. Our official birthday will always be the first Tuesday in June, but with our global reach comes a responsibility to cater for everyone. This means that there will be some events taking place a few days prior in the build up to our 5th birthday on June 2nd making the countdown even more exciting than in previous years!”
The Leadbetter Golf Academy World Headquarters at Champions Gate in Orlando, Florida hosted an extremely successful and well received Women’s Golf Day event in 2019 that welcomed over 125 women and was covered on Golf Channel. Following up from that success they are encouraging all of the David Leadbetter Academies, reaching across 4 continents, to host a WGD event and participate in the day on June 2nd, 2020 .
“Women’s Golf Day is a real celebration and a window to what the modern game is all about. It is so wonderful to see how the game has progressed, in particular with all the young girls taking up the game,” commented David Leadbetter. “I have a vested interest in women’s golf, having coached some of the world’s top players through the years, like Seri Pak and Michelle Wie but closer to home, my wife Kelly, former LPGA tour player and my daughter Hally, a fine player, who heads up social media for Golf Digest. Sadly the day is being held within a few months of the passing of one of history’s finest players, man or woman, Mickey Wright. Have a great day one and all.”
Other notable organizations who have committed to running Golf Day events across their vast portfolio of sites are Troon, Top Golf, PGA Tour Superstore and ClubCorp. Venues can sign up for FREE ($79.99 after March 1st ) using the code VIP2020 on the www.womensgolfday.com website.
