HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., – Srixon/Cleveland Golf is proud to announce Staffer Randy Smith was recently inducted into the 2022 World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame.
“I couldn’t be happier for Randy, this is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Mason Prange, Vice President of Sales at Srixon/Cleveland Golf. “He’s a consummate professional, and this achievement just cements his legacy, and we appreciate all he’s done for us at Srixon.”
Born and raised in Odessa, Texas, Smith began his golf career at Permian High School and would go on to play college golf at Texas Tech University. After graduating in 1974, Smith joined Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas, TX as an assistant. Soon after, he became an official PGA member. Currently, Smith serves as the PGA Golf Professional Emeritus and Director of Instruction at the Dallas-based club.
Widely regarded as one of the top teaching professionals in golf, Smith is an 18-time PGA of America National Award winner and was inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame in 2005. He was also featured on Golf Digest’s America’s 50 Greatest Teachers list and received the President’s Plaque 16-times, a national award honoring a person’s contributions and achievements in player development.
“Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to have a working relationship with Srixon/Cleveland Golf,” Smith said. “They’ve cared for my needs, but more importantly the needs of our members and I’ve never had a problem fitting a player into their equipment, so I send my sincere thanks for their support.”
