August 18, 2026

KFT Player Uses Nippon Shaft to Grab PGA Tour-Clinching Victory

CARLSBAD, Calif.  – The world’s No. 1 golfer used Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ Hybrid Tour X-flex shaft in his utility (3) iron in a dominating victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship Sunday (Aug. 16) in Memphis.

The 30-year-old Texan shot a 17-under par total with rounds of 68-61-68-66—263 to win the first tournament in the FedEx Cup Playoffs by eight strokes. His pursuit of the FedEx Cup and PGA Tour Player of the Year honors will continue later this week at the BMW Championship in outside St. Louis.

Meanwhile, on the Korn Ferry Tour, the 25-year-old native of Columbia, Missouri won the Alberton’s Boise Open using Nippon Shaft products and earned his PGA Tour membership for 2027. He used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Hybrid shaft in his hybrid club and N.S.PRO MODUS³ WEDGE 125 steel shafts in his wedges to shoot 27-under par with rounds of 65-64-64-64—257 and capture his second KFT victory. The former Georgia Tech golfer won the Blue Championship last month on the KFT.

“Nippon Shaft congratulates the winners of the FedEx St. Jude Championship and the Albertson’s Boise Open,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “Nippon Shaft takes pride in designing and manufacturing shafts that serve superstars who have established themselves at the top of the game as well as players who are striving to achieve their dreams.”

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands.  In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available through Nippon Shaft’s dedicated global club fitter network.  Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com

Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia.  Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer.  Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.
