Prizes For Upcoming World’s Largest Golf Outing Unveiled
The World’s Largest Golf Outing (WLGO) – a national event on Monday, August 6 benefiting Fisher House Foundation that supports military members and their families – has unveiled exciting prizes consisting of brand-name golf products and experiences.
The eighth annual simultaneous charity outing will be played on more than 100 golf courses coast to coast, plus Hawaii. Since its inception, more than 57,000 men, women, juniors and seniors have played in 33 states to raise nearly $3.8 million. Several national celebrities have donated to WLGO, including PGA Tour Legend Chi Chi Rodriguez and 42nd President Bill Clinton.
Teams participating in WLGO are eligible for prizes by simply fundraising and competing.
• Prize 1 – The team that raises the most funds nationwide will win a three-day, expenses-paid trip to Champions Retreat Golf Club, 15 minutes outside Augusta, GA. The private club features The Island, The Bluff and The Creek golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, respectively.
• Prize 2 – All teams raising at least $500 by August 6 are entered into a raffle for the opportunity to win a trip to Titleist headquarters in Fairhaven, MA or the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, CA.
• Prize 3 – Share your best story related to WLGO or Fisher House Foundation via Facebook (facebook.com/WorldsLargestGolfOuting), Twitter (@wlgo_bcg) or info@worldslargestgolfouting.com for the chance to win a set of patriotic golf clubs. Participants can also nominate others with compelling stories to tell.
• Prize 4 – The player from each facility who records the longest drive will be entered into a random drawing for a chance to win a free trip to the 2018 Volvik Long Drive Championship at the Winstar Casino Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
Golfers register as a single, twosome or foursome to play at participating courses near them. Cost varies by location and includes greens fees, shared carat, warm-up bucket of balls and lunch (if applicable), local prizes and awards ceremony following play. All golfers regardless of ability are welcome and a USGA handicap is not required.
“The World’s Largest Golf Outing is more than just a great day on the golf course,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of Billy Casper Golf that conceived WLGO. “It’s about making an impact on the lives of our injured service men and women, and their loved ones.”
