Rio Grande, Puerto Rico – Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach & Golf Resort recently welcomed Aaron West as its new head golf professional. West brings extensive experience and a commitment to enhancing the award-winningresort’s golf offerings.
West has more than 25 years of PGA professional experience, with an extensive career serving the golf community in Puerto Rico. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles at premier golf destinations, including Dorado Beach Resort, El Conquistador Resort, Grand Reserve Golf Club, Royal Isabela, and Dorado del Mar.
A PGA Life Member and Certified Professional, Aaron is widely recognized for his expertise in golf operations, instruction, tournament management, and club leadership. His distinguished career has earned him numerous PGA honors, including multiple Teacher of the Year, Player of the Year, and Golf Professional of the Year awards.

West, a Class A PGA Professional, holds a Master of Arts in Sport Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Professional Golf Management from Ferris State University.
Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach & Golf Resort features two distinct course designs – The Ocean Course; a design collaboration between award-winning architects Tom and George Fazio, and The River Course, designed by two-time Major Champion Greg Norman. The Ocean Course plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,782 yards from the back tees and 5,450 yards from the forward tees, while The River Course plays a slightly longer 6,945 yards from the back but a shorter 5,119 yards from the front.
