YAMAHA GOLF-CAR COMPANY DONATES TO FIRST TEE ORGANIZATION

April 23, 2023

Yamaha Golf-Car Company (YGC), along with the Davis Love Foundation, recently made donations totaling $10,000 to the First Tee organization. YGC selected two local associations— First Tee – Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA and First Tee – Metro Atlanta, East Lake Foundation— to each receive an amount of $5,000 to support their efforts to grow the game of golf.

First Tee began in 1997 as a partnership among the LPGA, the Masters Tournament, the PGA of America, the PGA TOUR, and the USGA to make golf affordable and accessible for all kids. As they introduced the game, they also introduced a life skills curriculum that supported the development of values found within the game of golf, including honesty, integrity, perseverance, and respect.

Now, for over two decades, they have been committed to helping kids build character strengths and important life skills through the game. While their efforts initially began on golf courses, they have expanded by bringing their program to physical education classes across the country through their in-school and after-school programs. Through their personal growth and junior golf programs, they see kids build self-confidence, inspiring more active participation in leadership opportunities and events, community involvement, and college scholarships.

YGC’s partnership with the Davis Love Foundation provides the opportunity to make donations like this that expand the reach of the sport and shepherd a new generation of golfers. “I’ve always made it a priority to grow golf’s accessibility and the First Tee provides so many resources to young children interested in the game,” said Stephen Donnell, President. “Davis Love III and his foundation give YGC the chance to give back directly to organizations that impact our immediate community.”
