Kennesaw, GA — Yamaha Golf-Car Company (YGC) is pleased to announce that they are a top-level benefactor for the first-ever Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Women’s Leadership Academy. This three-day event will take place November 7-9, 2023 in Lawrence, Kansas, home of GCSAA headquarters.
Designated as an Event Trailblazer, YGC has the opportunity to support women in the turfgrass industry through education, mentoring, and networking that will be offered at this event. Women’s Leadership Academy participants will be motivated to unleash their potential, empower their future, and become inspirational leaders both on and off the golf course. Topics covered will include everything from self-discovery and wellness to communication and talent optimization. Additionally, YGC will also be given the chance to include a representative from their own organization to participate in the event, in turn growing leadership opportunities for women within their own Yamaha business unit.
The Women’s Leadership Academy will be headlined by Suzy Whaley, PGA Master Professional and first woman to serve as president of the PGA of America. Whaley has a unique understanding of the work of turfgrass professionals and will be addressing attendees during a fireside chat at the event’s opening reception. Over the course of the event, participants will be able to engage with leaders like Whaley and make connections with participants from all walks of the golf industry.
“The Women’s Leadership Academy is a great opportunity for YGC to encourage more women in the golf industry,” said Stephen Donnell, YGC President. “The number of women in golf will continue to grow and this event gives us a platform to inspire more women to take on leadership roles within the industry.”
