2027 KW88 Gift Award offers five women $5,000 each; applicants encouraged to prepare thoughtful responses before the October 26 deadline
FORT WORTH, Texas – You have put in the practice. Made the sacrifices. Imagined what might come next. Now, with applications for the 2027 KW88 Gift Award closing October 26, aspiring women professional golfers have one more task: tell their story.
The program of the Kathy Whitworth Foundation will provide five recipients with $5,000 each to help them pursue professional golf careers.
The application goes beyond scores and tournament results. Its essay-style questions invite applicants to reflect on challenges, perseverance and the experiences that have shaped their pursuit of the game.
Those questions deserve time and thought. The online application must be completed in one sitting, so applicants are encouraged to review the questions and prepare their written responses before beginning the submission process.
For anyone who started an application but stepped away to consider those answers, there is still time to return, start again, and submit before the deadline. The application must be completed in one sitting.
Kathy Whitworth understood that a golfer’s potential cannot always be measured by her current results—or her bank balance. Early in her career, disappointing performances and financial pressures left her questioning whether she could continue. Support from her family and community helped her keep going – and she went on to win 88 LPGA Tour events, becoming the winningest professional golfer in history, male or female.
The KW88 Gift Award carries that belief forward: support at a pivotal moment can help a talented golfer continue pursuing what is possible.
For prospective applicants, the final invitation is simple: Make time for the questions. Tell your story. Give yourself the opportunity to be considered.
Applications close October 26, 2026. Each golfer may receive the KW88 Gift Award only once.
