Youth on Course Expands Life-Changing Opportunities by 47% in 2019
Highlights Include $1.36 Million Reimbursed to Courses, Seven New State Partnerships
(PEBBLE BEACH, Ca.) — Youth on Course — the non-profit providing young people with subsidized golf, college scholarships, caddie programs and paid internships – closes a remarkable 2019 after achieving all-time highs in membership growth, funds reimbursed to courses and state partnerships, illustrating its increasing impact on the lives of kids across North America.
Youth on Course has positively affected 70,970 young people across North America, a record-breaking increase of 47% since 2018. Fueling the golf industry, $1.36 million was reimbursed back to participating courses, a 38% increase from 2018. Seven new allied golf association partnerships were established, now offering $5 rounds of golf in 1,300 facilities across 35 states and Canada.
“Our supporters, partners, members and staff helped make 2019 our most successful year to date,” says Michael Lowe, vice president of programs for Youth on Course. “We view our expansive programs as the vehicle to deliver our mission of providing measurable and meaningful on-course and off-course impact for individuals and communities alike.”
Youth on Course supports members and partners with growth opportunities as well as affordable tee times. In 2019, the organization placed 31 members with paid internships, provided 190 individuals workforce development training through its caddie program and awarded 18 participants with college scholarships, valued at $260,000.
Members and alumni experienced success on a national stage. Strong program-representation included two spots at the U.S. Open, two spots at the U.S. Women’s Open, 34 at the U.S. Junior Amateur, 38 at the U.S. Girls’ Junior, three Augusta National Women’s Amateur participants and 19 Drive, Chip and Putt finalists. Notable alumni Cameron Champ earned his second win on the PGA TOUR at the 2019 Safeway Open. Brand ambassadors supporting Youth on Course now include Tom Watson, Harold Varner III and Josh Teater, to name a few.

Members play thousands of courses for $5 or less, benefit from employment through the caddie and internship program, and receive college scholarships.
