This partnership brings support to five AJGA events in 2024
Braselton, Ga. – Youth on Course is set to support the AJGA’s Day in a Life program, expanding its reach to five events this year. This partnership brings an exciting collaboration aimed at introducing the next generation to career paths in golf beyond playing the game.
The Day in a Life Program, introduced by the American Junior Golf Association in 2019, offers participants insights into various aspects of the golf industry, including Tournament Administration, Operations, and Communications, all while enjoying the excitement of watching top junior golfers compete in AJGA tournaments.
“Partnering with Youth on Course exemplifies our dedication to enriching the lives of young golfers through the Day in a Life program,” said Stephen Hamblin, Executive Director of the AJGA. We’re not just providing opportunities; we’re igniting a pathway to success. Through these initiatives, we aim to empower the next generation by expanding access to affordable golf and educational resources.”
In 2023, the Day in a Life program saw over 115 participants across 17 AJGA tournaments, with support from organizations like the First Tee, PGA Junior League, and the Cameron Champ Foundation. Now, with the addition of Youth on Course, the AJGA looks forward to expanding this opportunity further in 2024. This year, Youth on Course will back the Day in a Life Program at five events, raising awareness and extending the program’s impact.
“Whether it’s competing in elite tournaments or carving a career in the game, golf has a special ability to change the course of a young person’s life,” said Youth on Course, Vice President of Programs, Michael Lowe. “We are excited to partner with the AJGA to offer this educational opportunity to our members and raise up the next generation of leaders.”
The following events will be supported by Youth on Course in 2024. Each of these tournaments are hosted at an affiliate course of the Youth on Course program. These courses allow Youth on Course members to play a round for $5 or less, aiming to remove the cost barrier for young golfers.
