Seamless rounds of golf with automatically-adjusting lies are now possible for Trackman owners with Zen Swing Stage
ORLANDO, USA – A seismic change in indoor golf is imminent after an industry-defining demonstration at the 2026 PGA Show in Orlando.
Zen Golf and Trackman showcased a faultless working prototype at this year’s exhibition, revealing Zen’s new Swing Stage 2.0 moving automatically, rapidly and safely when golfers hit shots in a sim bay powered by the ceiling-mounted Trackman iO launch monitor.
Trackman’s Virtual Golf 3 software was shown commanding the Zen Swing Stage to move in an exact reflection of the fairway gradients shown on-screen, silently and robustly without any delay between shots.
On the Swing Stage, sloping fairway lies can be created in a safe environment suitable for both coach-supervised and unsupervised play.
Although Zen “Active Terrain” technology is already the recognized market leader for dynamic moving floors among users of multiple indoor golf technologies, Zen Swing Stage automatic movement – which creates a truly hands-free round of golf in the most modern sim bays – is available exclusively for Trackman owners worldwide.
Acclaim from golf instructors
The demonstration created a sense of wonder and drew unanimous acclaim from visitors throughout the three days of the exhibition.
Prominent PGA Instructors who visited the Zen Golf booth praised the integration’s ability to improve both recreational play and game-improvement in an indoor environment.
“I walked the PGA Show for two days and there was not one product I was more impressed with” said Brian Manzella, Golf Digest #14 ranked Teacher in America.
“This is the dream of every virtual golf owner. Now you can add the complexity of real golf, with different lies for your feet, and different lies for your ball.”
Devan Bonebrake, a five-time Golf Digest Best Young Teacher in America, said: “This is so cool. It’s already happening, I love how immediate it is. It just moves and you don’t even notice. Now, you’re not just playing a shot – you’re making decisions like you would on the golf course.
“I think this is the biggest thing which has been missing in golf practice for the last 100 years. The question ‘how do you play a real golf course indoors and practice uneven lies properly?’ has now been answered. Let the slope create the shot. The slope changes launch, spin, height – everything.
“Congratulations on a huge move forward in golf instruction and player experience.”
Multi-award-winning PGA golf coach Kerrod Gray said: “The speed is unreal – by the time I’ve thought about the shot I just played, the Zen Swing Stage has already adjusted. The biggest complaint in golf is that range or indoor practice isn’t the same as the golf course. This solves it, one hundred percent.”
Golfusion founder Dylan Ross, an Advanced Fellow of the PGA, said: “Zen’s Green Stage and Swing Stage are now the centrepieces of our facility. At elite levels, including PGA Tour players, the appreciation for what Swing Stage and Green Stage can now do has been incredible since we became a Zen venue almost two years ago.
“This integration with Trackman is a dream come true.”
“I came to the Zen booth to see the integration between Trackman and Swing Stage” said Zen Green Stage owner Lisa Meldrum, Canadian Golf Hall of Fame inductee and former LPGA Tour professional.
“It just worked. I do a lot of full-swing lessons, so seeing how smooth and seamless it was really impressed me.”
Zen’s new Swing Stage 2.0 – designed for Trackman users
The Zen Swing Stage 2.0, launched at this year’s PGA Show, is the result of confidential research and development which has been taking place in the new Tuxen Innovation Lab at Trackman’s global headquarters since it opened in August 2024.
Zen Golf’s Sheffield-based team undertook a design engineering program specifically with Trackman users in mind to match exactly the required fairway contours, and to almost double speed of movement. The new version features a low-profile form factor which meets the minimum step-height requirement for USA architectural design, enabling seamless upgrades to existing properties.
Now, immediate post-shot movement underfoot follows the natural pace of a round of simulated golf, enhancing session flow and thus improving ROI.
Greater flexibility allows for true ‘active terrain’ movement, exactly matching fairway curvature. Both planar and non-planar lies are robustly and instantly delivered, meaning the golfer can now stand on complex, compound slopes indoors – previously only available after hunting around the driving range outside. The Trackman Virtual Golf 3 software layer now delivers these complex gradients with stunning precision, automatically.
A huge range of movement, with gradients delivered speedily up to 12% slope in 0.1% increments, means that Zen Swing Stage is the only moving platform in the world which reaches all parts of Trackman Virtual Golf 3 golf courses.
Zen’s patented User Interface with intuitive touchscreen controls is available for all customers, with Zen’s industry-leading stability, reliability and build quality delivered by world-class engineering perfected over the last 10+ years.
With UKCA safety certification backed by the ISO-9001 accredited Zen Golf organization, Zen moving floors have been highly visible worldwide since Sky Sports first deployed the Zen Green Stage in live broadcasts from 2016, leading to its BAFTA-winning golf coverage of The Open Championship and subsequent Majors including the Masters Tournament and the US PGA Championship, as well as the Ryder Cup.
Engineered using lightweight aircraft alloys at the world-famous Advanced Manufacturing Research Center in Sheffield, England – which hosts projects by major international technology brands including Rolls-Royce, Boeing and McLaren – all Zen Active Terrain floors are developed by a dedicated team of movement specialists united by a passion for golf and intelligent design.
Zen’s adjustable floors offer class-leading, low-risk maintenance and are easily serviced by a fast-growing network of Zen Certified Installers in 28 countries worldwide, including all major golfing nations.
The original Zen Swing Stage is also compatible with the Trackman software integration, and remains in the Zen 2026 range for customers who wish to embed force plates for additional swing analysis and Ground Reaction Force data.
Zen Golf founder Nick Middleton said: “Zen and Trackman have now combined in a history-making moment of innovation to show golfers how to recreate the golf course indoors more realistically than ever before. This is not just a huge step forwards for both companies, but also for all golfers and instructors across the world.”
The Zen software integration will be released to Trackman Virtual Golf 3 users later in 2026. Those interested in pairing Zen Swing Stage with Trackman are urged to contact andy.hiseman@zen.golf without delay to secure early production orders for their Zen.
