Classic Golf Group Names Matthew Griffith As Director Of Marketing

January 9, 2006, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Representatives from Classic Golf Group have named Matthew Griffith as the director of marketing. His responsibilities in this role include overseeing all marketing efforts for each of Classic Golf Group’s six golf courses – Black Bear, Indian Wells, Burning Ridge, International Club, Crown Park and the Pawleys Island Golf Club, which will open in late 2006.

Griffith brings more than 10 years of golf industry experience in the Myrtle Beach market to Classic Golf Group. Most recently, he served as head golf professional at The Pearl Golf Links in Sunset Beach, N.C., where he instituted a customer and hotel relations program, initiated new customer service programs, integrated new sale systems and developed marketing programs with local media outlets. He has also served as 1st assistant professional at both Tidewater Golf Club and Plantation and Barefoot Resort’s Dye Club; both in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Griffith received a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Coastal Carolina University and has since been named among the top five graduates of The Professional Golf Management Program when he was certified for the PGA; named one of only five Myrtle Beach area PGA members to be voted onto the President’s Council for growing the game; and hosted his own educational DVD teaching golfers basic techniques of the game. The Matthews, Virginia, native is a Class "A" member of the PGA of America.
