The Professional Clubmakers’ Society is offering 8-hours of training at the PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando Florida on Thursday, January 26 and Friday, January 27. The objectives of the 8 hour Clubmaking and Repair Skills Training School are to familiarize attendees with state-of-the-art clubmaking and repair skills techniques and to relate those techniques to improved customer service. The course will review the latest club-repair techniques, the fitting process, innovations in shaft and grip technology, shaft frequency and flex determination, spine-alignment techniques, shop repair flow, and special repairs to the latest OEM drivers such as Ping, Callaway, TaylorMade and Titleist. Each attendee will learn to adjust the loft and lie of irons and putters, using their own clubs for hands-on adjustments. One attendee will re-shaft a driver with a premium-grade graphite shaft such as Aldila or UST. Each attendee should bring a driver and putter to use in the demonstrations. Each attendee will receive a certificate of achievement following completion of the school. The process will help PGA apprentices prepare their Level 1 Golf Club Design and Repair Self-Study Manual. The school also will cover how to apply selected golf club specification to complement various swing characteristics noted in teaching/fitting sessions.
Several PGA apprentices have taken the school and highly recommend it for preparing for both your written and skills exams. The PCS will offer the Clubmaking and Repair Skills Training School in 2 4-hour classes each day from 8:30am -12:30pm at a show special price of $100 (normally $125). Sign up while there is room still available!
