LAURINBURG, NC â?¦ Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) announced its latest line of Golf Pride brand grips for the 2006 season. The new models demonstrate Golf Pride’s reputation and commitment to enhancing performance through innovative technology.
"The Golf Pride 2006 grip series builds on the success of last year’s offerings. We continue to leverage our groundbreaking technology and pursue our goal of improving golfers’ games," said Jeff Fiorini, general manager of Eaton’s Golf Grip Division. "We are aiming to educate golfers on the importance of re-gripping and offer them a grip that best fits their game."
2006 GRIP SERIES:
David Leadbetterâ?¢ Training Grip Extension: This popular training grip, which is now offered in left-handed and undersized versions, is the product of a partnership between Golf Pride and David Leadbetter to design and manufacture the most innovative training grip in golf. Designed to exacting standards, this training grip is an excellent practice tool for learning and reinforcing the mechanics and feel of proper hand placement on the club. This grip will help beginners as well as advanced players perfect their grip and improve their game. The grip is also available in standard and oversize models.
The Leadbetter grips are developed in conjunction with world-renowned golf instructor David Leadbetter and help teach and reinforce the mechanics and feel of proper hand placement on the club.
A recent survey conducted by Eaton showed that 41 percent of golfers rarely (or never) change their grips, and 30 percent only change them once every two to three years. Thirty-one percent of those surveyed, however, said that changing their golf grips directly improves their performance on the course. David Leadbetter agrees. "Grips should be changed once per year for the recreational golfer," said Leadbetter. "A grip that fits your game can make a huge difference when it comes to improving performance."
New Decadeâ?¢ MultiCompound Mid-size: The breakthrough grip of last year was the New Decade MultiCompound, and it is now available in a mid-size model. This innovative new model fuses the positive performance of rubber and cord for an exciting look and feel. The MultiCompound boasts Golf Pride’s exclusive black Velvet Cord in the upper hand area for firm all-weather control, and a soft, red rubber in the lower hand for ultimate feel and responsiveness.
Dual Durometer Cordâ?¢: Introduced in 2004, the Dual Durometer high-performance grip, which now is offered as a cord grip, was engineered in a breakthrough two-layer thermoset rubber construction. The firm inner layer optimizes control and feedback while the cotton-soft, outer cord layer maximizes comfort and all-weather performance.
Dual Durometerâ?¢ Undersized: Using the same innovative material and construction of the men’s Dual Durometer grip introduced in 2004, the Dual Durometer Undersized model offers everything that golfers love about the Dual Durometer grips, but in an undersized version. Dual Durometer grips, along with Golf Pride Whisper grips, received an Ease of Use commendation from the Arthritis Foundation for their ability to minimize the painful effects on joints while swinging a golf club.
