(Vista, CA) – January 23, 2006 — La Jolla Club Golf Company today announced that it has redesigned its line of Super Flex Junior and Teen Clubs.
"Our goal in designing a junior and teen line of clubs was to focus on performance at a fair price," said Les Miller, Vice President Sales, La Jolla Club Golf Company. "So we paid more attention to the shaft flex and designed our patented calibrated Super Flex shafts to help kids get started the right way."
The new Super Flex Junior and Teen Clubs feature an updated head design and improved performance, Winn Grips designed specifically for juniors, improved head weighting and a patented multi-use club design.
The company first introduced Super Flex junior shafts with "2-in-1" combination grips and heads back in 1991. The patented calibrated shaft system was designed after years of testing. As the shafts get shorter, they are more flexible, unlike cut-down adult shafts. The patented multi-use fitting system allows juniors to have two clubs in one. For instance, on the 5/6 combo club, there is a long and short section of the grip and markings to show the junior where to grip to determine whether the club will hit like a 5-iron or a 6-iron.
The Super Flex Junior Sets (ages 6-12) are available in three sizes (blue, yellow and green) in a driver, 5/6, 7/8, 9/PW irons, a putter and a stand bag. The Super Flex Teen Sets (ages 12-17) are available in one size in three configurations: 5 clubs (a driver, 3 irons and a putter); 7 clubs (a driver, fairway wood, four irons and a putter); and 10 clubs (a driver, two fairway woods, and seven irons).
The suggested retail price for the Junior set is $129.95. Individual clubs are available and range in price from $24.95 – $29.95. A junior stand bag is available in blue, yellow, green, red, pink/red and pink/tan for $39.95.
The suggested retail prices for the Teen sets are $149.95 for the 5-club set, $179.95 for the 7-club set, and $349.95 for the 10-club set.
