Will you be the LUCKY one to write history?
Who is the best Coach in the world? What kind of Coach helps teach Life and Social Skills to kids for many years? Baseball, football, soccer, tennis, basketball, track, etc…. What sport is the Game of LIFE?
The answer can be found here in the Life of William "Bill" Survilla, Caddie Manager at Oak Park Country Club, for 30 years and a World War 2 Veteran and Prisoner of War in 1944. He passes on and shares the good values of Life through sports and the profession of Caddying. Caddie on…. BILL AND CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR INDUCTION INTO THE 2005 PCA CADDIE HALL OF FAME ON FRIDAY AT 4PM AT THE 2006 PGA SHOW IN ORLANDO.
William "Bill" Survilla, caddie manager at Oak Park Country Club, for 30 years, is a father of two daughters and a grandfather of five. He has loved the game of golf since he started as a caddie at the age of 13. He and his older brother hitched a ride 25 miles, each way mind you, to be a part of a life that has lead him down an important road. So influential was this time in his life, that he chose that world for his profession and urged others to be a part of it as well. With "Pop" as their biggest advocate, two of his grandchildren are now caddies. Haleigh Geraghty, age 16 has caddied at Ridgemoor Country Club in Harwood Heights, IL for 2 years. In 2004, her first year caddying, she received the honor of #1 B caddie of the year. In 2005, she was promoted to an A caddie. William Angelico (named after his grandfather), age 14 began caddying this past year at Oak Park Country Club, River Grove, Illinois. He finished in the top B caddies and hopes to be promoted next year. Both Haleigh and Will not only spend their summers out on the links, but are also exceptional students. They both started their careers with caddie lessons from their grandfather. Who better to teach them the ropes? Bill has 3 more grandchildren, Matthew Geraghty, 12, Ashley Angelico, 11, and James Angelico, 9 who all hope to caddie when they are old enough. Their grandfather has stirred up a love of the game in all of them and had never missed the opportunity to teach them all what it means to be a good caddie. It’s a bit of a family legacy that they are all proud to be a part of.
