SCHAUMBURG, Illinois (April 3, 2006) – Give a skilled craftsman a great set of tools and look out.
With a 9-under par total that included a final round 65, the winner of the 2006 Kraft Nabisco Championship appeared to get the most out of the Nippon Shafts she used in all her woods and irons.
In capturing her seventh LPGA major title, the champion used N.S. Pro 600 graphite shafts in her woods and N.S. Pro 1050GH shafts in her irons, shooting 70-68-76-65—279 in regulation and birdieing her first playoff hole at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. to close the deal.
She had the 1050GH in her pitching wedge when she holed a dramatic 116-yard pitch for eagle on the 72nd hole.
N.S. Pro 1050GH shafts are constant weighted at 105 grams each while the N.S. Pro 600 graphite shafts weigh 60 grams.
All Nippon Shaft products are 100 percent made in a state-of-the-art Japanese factory using unique proprietary materials and a specialized heat-treatment process, according to Hiroyuki Fukuda, Nippon Shaft’s North American sales and marketing director. The manufacturing process is overseen by a highly-trained and veteran staff that operates according to the highest manufacturing standards in the world.
"A Nippon Shaft is better because it provides golfers with better overall control: superior distance control, superior trajectory control, and superior shot dispersion control," Fukuda said. "Because Nippon Shaft makes good shafts, the ball goes where you want it to go."
Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia with more than 80 percent of the market and ranks No. 2 in North America. Currently, more than 100 touring professionals worldwide use Nippon Shaft products, resulting in more than 50 victories in the last three years, Fukuda said.
Nippon Shaft currently provides lightweight steel shaft products as stock options for such highly respected brands as Callaway, Cobra, Nickent, Precept, Titleist, and Tour Edge. In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available as custom options for Cleveland, Mizuno, Ping, and Srixon clubs.
Nippon Shaft is a subsidiary of privately-held NHK, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer based in Yokohama, Japan. Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Schaumburg, Illinois.
