August 3, 2006, Pawleys Island, S.C. – The Myrtle Beach National Company and the Direct Approach Golf School at Willbrook Plantation will host the third annual "Girls Love To Golf" workshop, October 12-15, 2006, at Litchfield Country Club and Willbrook Plantation Golf Club. The workshop will provide an exclusive opportunity for women to improve their golf game during a fun-filled weekend at two of the South Strand’s best golf courses; Willbrook Plantation, recently named one of Golf For Women’s top 25 golf courses, and Litchfield Country Club, which recently received four stars in Golf Digest’s "Places to Play Guide."
Courtney Cauthen, director of instruction at the Direct Approach Golf School at Willbrook Plantation, will lead a staff of talented teaching professionals, including Krista Dunton, a Golf for Women’s Top 50 Instructor, with lessons in putting, chipping, pitching, sand play, irons, woods, video analysis and on-course instruction. The student-teacher ratio will be kept low to ensure individual attention for all golfers. For the second year, the teaching professionals will utilize the "Launch Your Game" program at the "Girls Love to Golf" workshop to analyze golf swings. The Launch monitor captures split-second images of a golf swing and ball as it leaves the club face, measuring club head speed, ball flight, launch angle and club head angle. Complimentary club fitting sessions can also be arranged by appointment for those who would like correct specifications for their remaining clubs.
"Courtney is an inspiration to women who enjoy the game of golf," said Jim Woodring, vice president of golf operations for The Myrtle Beach National Company. "With her instruction, this unique workshop will be a fun way for women to improve their game in a light, fun, no-stress environment."
The workshop begins Thursday, October 12 with a welcome reception with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Friday, October 13 starts with a breakfast buffet before the golfers head out for morning instruction. After lunch, the golfers head to Litchfield Country Club or Willbrook Plantation for an afternoon on the course to practice their new skills. Saturday’s action starts with another breakfast buffet, followed by more morning golf instruction and afternoon tee times at Litchfield Country Club or Willbrook Plantation.
The three-night workshop is $699 and reservations may be made by calling (888) 486-3249 or logging on to www.MyrtleBeachWomensGolf.com.
