Integrating contemporary design elements into its tour-proven, Forged 700 series platform for greater performance and improved playability, Titleist introduces the new 755 as its new flagship iron. The 755 is a mid-sized, cavity-backed forging that delivers the looks, feel and forgiveness serious players demand.
"The new 755 improves upon and replaces the Forged 704.CB in the Titleist iron family by offering enhanced playability and control, and a more contemporary look that will appeal to a wider range of players from tour professionals to high single-digit handicappers," said Chris McGinley, Vice President, Golf Club Marketing, Titleist. Arron Oberholser was the first player to win with the new 755 irons when he earned his first career PGA Tour title at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February. Oberholser posted a five-shot win that matched the largest margin of victory in the 77-year history of the tournament. He also led the event in birdies with 26. Among the other PGA Tour players finding success with the new 755’s include Ben Crane, Steve Stricker, Bill Haas, and Tom Pernice, Jr., as well as Jay Haas, who has won three times on the 2006 Champions Tour, including the Senior PGA Championship.
The 755 is constructed from a soft, 410 stainless steel, by a precise multi-step patented forging process that allows for a thinner face, higher volume cavity and exact placement of inner cavity weighting. The result is a lower center of gravity (CG) position that provides for easy-up launch with a mid-high ball flight and blade-like control.
755 FEATURES AND BENEFITS
– Thin Face Design: Creates a mid-size iron with a larger volume cavity that allows weight to be repositioned lower and to the perimeter for increased forgiveness and playability. The lower Center of Gravity (CG) provides for easy-up launch.
– Vibration Dampening Chip: A 6061 T-6 forged aluminum insert reinforces the thin face and significantly reduces vibration for greater feedback while improving sound, feel and better overall club head feedback.
– Enhanced Heel-Toe Weighting: Inner-cavity heel-toe weighting redistributes 10g of weight (3g in the heel, 7g in the toe) through the set to provide a higher Moment of Inertia (MOI) for greater club head stability and forgiveness.
– High Performance Sole: Features a rolled leading edge and progressive bounce angles to prevent digging in soft conditions and skipping in firmer conditions for crisp, consistent contact.
– Dual Hosel Lengths: Relocates weight lower in the 2 through 7 irons for easier initial launch while longer hosels in the 8 through PW raise the CG slightly for superior knockdown control.
– Progressive Appearance: Provides continuity of the topline, offset, sole width and blade length through the set for a seamless transition from playable long irons to more traditional short irons.
– Soft, Forged Feel: The 410 stainless steel body with a non-glare satin finish creates the soft feel and sound preferred by better golfers and allows for a wider range of custom options.
– Precise Milled Finishing Process: The milled face and scorelines yield precise alignment and greater volume than traditional grooves for consistent spin and distance control.
– Tri-Spec Shaft: A high performance stock shaft specifically engineered to provide an outstanding blend of feel, ball flight and trajectory control in a player-friendly mid-weight package.
The Titleist Tour Velvet Rubber (Round) is the stock grip. Additional shaft and grip options are available through Titleist Custom.

Price and Availability
The new Titleist 755 irons will begin shipping to golf shops on August 15, 2006 and are available in both right and left hand. The suggested retail price is $112/per iron with steel shafts and $129/per iron with graphite shafts.
