Oceanside, CA: The new Fix-Master does something traditional divot tools cannot. The Fix-Master offers golfers an opportunity to use some of their time waiting to putt fixing ball marks three or four at a time without bending to do it. It cleverly and discretely fastens to the end of any putter, and features four tapered prongs that gently lift the ball mark sod making perfect repairs without damaging the putting green surface. The scar from a severe ball mark heals far faster when properly repaired with a Fix-Master than with a conventional divot repair tool.
Hugh Penton, President of Starting Time, comments: " I believe the Fix-Master is an important development for golf courses. It is simple math: Fewer golfers will repair more marks, leaving the greens in perfect putting condition. It is so easy and efficient to repair a mark while standing, that golfers who will often repair only their own mark only part of the time, will repair three or four with the Fix-Master. Golfers just hold their putter head, stand over the mark and jab the ground a few times. It is actually rather addictive. It is a habit with me at this point. I can’t seem to stop." Penton adds, "a few golfers armed with the fix-Master will repair more marks than five times as many with a traditional tool. By having the Fix-Master fastened to the end of the golfer’s putter, it makes it unnecessary to even bend over to make the repair of the ball mark. This is a great benefit to all golfers, particularly those with stiff or sore backs. The prongs are designed to take the work out of the ball mark repair. A golf course with a few of the Fix- Master faithful, can look forward to significantly healthier greens."
The four pointed prongs of the tool leave small holes around the ball mark. These holes act as aerators promoting faster healing of the surface. The tapered prongs penetrate the soil, imparting an effective lifting action that eliminates tearing of the grass roots. This is common when using a two-prong divot tool.
Another unique and helpful addition to the new Fix-Master is that it incorporates a ball marker in the cap covering the divot tool when not in use. So, when a golfer gets to the green, the divot tool and marker are always available because they are conveniently placed on the handle of their putter. These ball markers can be custom imprinted for Tournament gifts or for use as promotional items.
The new Fix-Master fastens to the end of the putter grip with a combination of a pressure sensitive tape and a specially designed, wide-flanged screw that attaches through the vent hole of the grip with no damage to the putter. The divot tool is ergonomically shaped to the correct angle to provide faster and easier repair of the ball mark. It has no effect on the golfer’s putting.
For new golfers, or those that are not familiar with the proper repair of ball marks on the greens, the Fix-Master is especially helpful, according to Penton. Many times ball repair is done incorrectly and results in a scared spot on the green that is slow to heal. The repair of multiple ball marks is so quick and easy, regular use will leave the greens in better playing condition for the benefit of all.
