LAURINBURG, N.C., â?¦ Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that, according to authoritative Darrell Survey results, the majority of pros once again depended on Golf Pride® grips at a major tournament.
The PGA Championship, played outside of Chicago on August 17-20, featured Golf Pride grips on 1,817 (83.2 percent) clubs compared to just 367 (16.8 percent) clubs for all other competitors’ grips.
Among the 156-player field, an impressive 134 (85.9 percent) of them chose the most used grip in golf for the majority of their clubs. Golf’s last major of the year saw the field overwhelmingly choose Golf Pride on their woods, with 402 of 465 (86.5 percent) adorned with Golf Pride grips.
"Building on our presence at the British Open, it’s exciting to see Golf Pride grips help the pros shoot such low scores at the PGA Championship," said Dwight Miles, director of global sales and marketing for Eaton’s Golf Grip Division. "The fact that so many professionals in this year’s field chose Golf Pride grips shows their trust in the versatility and performance we deliver."
