ORLANDO (August 22, 2006) – Laura Baugh, Golf Channel personality and LPGA veteran, will team up with Brad Brewer for the inaugural Shingle Creek Executive Women’s Golf Retreat, October 5-8, 2006, at the new Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando.
The resort, featuring the highly-acclaimed and award-winning Shingle Creek Golf Course and the Brad Brewer Golf Academy, will be celebrating the opening of its new, luxurious 1,500-room hotel one month prior.
The Executive Women’s Golf Retreat is $1,600. Space is limited and reservations are being accepted through September 15, 2006 by calling 866-996-6338. The Executive Women’s Golf Retreat features:
â?¢ Luxurious accommodations and lush surroundings at the new Rosen Shingle Creek resort, nestled on a 230-acre natural environment along historic Shingle Creek.
â?¢ Four hours of instruction on Friday and Saturday, addressing the fundamentals found in all great golfers, followed by 9 holes of golf with Brewer, Baugh and Academy instructors.
â?¢ An optional 18 holes at the award-winning Shingle Creek Golf Club on the final day.
â?¢ Nightly elegant dinners at the resort’s signature Cala Bella (Creek Beautiful) Italian Bistro, a fine dining restaurant featuring a presentation-cooking bar and a host of culinary delights.
â?¢ A rejuvenating spa treatment from an array of signature services at the Spa at Shingle Creek.
â?¢ A wine appreciate class where guests "savor, sip and smell" during a guided tour of the Rosen Shingle Creek master wine list to witness the true secrets behind grape varietals.
The outing will focus on the fundamentals found in every great golfer, with emphasis on how to properly and confidently conduct oneself on the course whether to play in a social or business setting. Baugh and Brewer will conduct evening workshops to address the language of golf, the pace of the game and the business etiquette of golf. According to Baugh, the culmination of knowledge will open new doors for women in what has been traditionally a man’s sport. Brewer, North Florida PGA Teacher of the Year, has been recognized for his efforts to grow the game of golf through women and junior programs.
"It’s important to instill confidence in women who wish to use golf as a business tool," says Baugh. "I look forward to doing that with my long-time friend Brad Brewer at the new Shingle Creek. It’s at a great venue and I am excited for the women who will leave here after the four days, ready to take advantage of that four hour sales call that they missed out on before this experience."
"We are honored to have Laura Baugh here for this event at our facility," says Dave Scott, Director of Golf, Shingle Creek Golf Club. "She is a highly respected person, player and businesswoman in golf and will add a tremendous amount of class and dignity to this women’s event."
Rosen Shingle Creek, opening September 9, 2006, will be one of the largest luxury convention resorts in Central Florida. The 230-acre facility will offer 1,500 guest rooms including 139 suites, and an array of amenities such as a full-service 13,000-square-foot Spa at Shingle Creek with nine treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art Health Club, an 18-hole, par 72 (7,228 yard) championship golf course ranked one of the "Top 40 Best New Courses in the U.S." by Golfweek Magazine (opened in December 2003), four outdoor swimming pools, two lighted tennis courts, basketball, seasonal canoe trips, nature trails, fishing, a volleyball court and more.
