Mackenzie records break-through PGA TOUR Win; Miyazato Sets PGA TOUR Record in Electrifying Fashion
Covington, Ga. — While most of the golf world was focused on the WGC Bridgestone Invitational this week, Bridgestone also made quite a boom across the Nevada desert, where two rising stars, who could be the future of the Bridgestone Golf Worldwide Tour Team, had marquee moments at the Reno-Tahoe Open.
Will Mackenzie, a former professional kayaker and extreme sports enthusiast, used an impressive birdie on the 72nd hole to record his first ever PGA TOUR victory posting 20-under par, becoming just the third first-time winner ever at the Reno event. Mackenzie relied on Bridgestone’s TOUR B330-S golf ball to finish 26th in Driving Distance (averaging an impressive 316.6 yards) and the 6th in Driving Accuracy hitting 85.7 percent of his fairways.
In addition to the solid performance off the tee, Mackenzie counted on his Bridgestone J33B Forged Blade Irons to gain a 7th place finish in Greens In Regulation finding the dance floor an astonishing 73.6 % of the time. In addition Mackenzie gained top 20 finishes in other statistical categories such as sand saves, putts per green, putts per round. Most notably, Mackenzie finished first for the week in Eagles with 4, bolstered by the incredible 3 eagle performance, 9-under par 63, he recorded in the first round.
"Will has the potential to be a big star out here," said Dan Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing, Bridgestone Golf, Inc. "His combination of electric play and an infectious personality could make him a fan favorite for years to come. We congratulate Will and look for this to be a springboard to bigger things."
The Bridgestone Tour B330-S and J33B Blade Irons are currently available at golf specialty stores and green grass retailers nationwide.

Miyazato Records Two Holes-In-One in Six Hole Span
Bringing even further acclaim to the Bridgestone family of brands in Reno, Yusako Miyazato became the first man to make two holes-in-one in the same round during a PGA TOUR event. Miyazato used a 4-iron on the 7th hole to ace the 230-yard par 3 and then relied on his 7-iron on the 173-yard 12th hole, to record his second hole-in-one in the second round on Friday. Miyazato is the brother of Ai Miyazato of the LPGA Tour, also a member of the Bridgestone Worldwide Tour Team.
Miyazato accomplished the feat using the TourStage X01 golf ball. The X01 golf ball is similar in construction to the U.S. market’s Bridgestone Golf TOUR B330 model, with some variations designed to help players competing in conditions found more frequently on the JPGA Tour. Both balls were autographed and submitted to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
