Half of tickets sales generated through Publix Supermarkets to benefit United Way of Palm Beach County
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., November 7, 2006 – Tickets to the LPGA’s season-ending ADT Championship are on sale at 60 Palm Beach County Publix Supermarkets until Nov. 13. Fans planning to attend the premier championship on the LPGA, which will award a women’s golf record $1 million to this year’s winner, can purchase advance season or good-any-day tickets. Half of the ticket sales will benefit the United Way of Palm Beach County.
Publix will be selling the discounted advance $20 Daily Ticket, good for any one day from Tuesday, Nov. 14-Saturday, Nov. 18, and the $30 Sunday Final Round Ticket, which is good for Nov. 19 only.
"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the ADT Championship, to support the exciting players of the LPGA and are most happy to know this endeavor benefits our community’s children via the United Way," said Publix Director of Merchandising, Gary Correll. "The proceeds we raise through our ticket sales is one example of our dedication to helping the children and we are pleased to be a part of such a high-profile event that has been heightened further with the advent of the LPGA Playoffs."
"This venture with Publix plays a vital role in expanding our community outreach and spreading the word that Palm Beach County plays host to one of the LPGA’s most important and exciting events," said Championship Director Kevin Krisle. "Raising money for the United Way of Palm Beach County, which gives more opportunity and support to our children and future leaders, is an integral part of the ADT Championship’s primary goal of charitable contribution. We remain extremely happy with our partnership with Publix and its support of ticket sales to an event that will make history this year from the standpoint that no women’s golf event has ever rewarded its winner with $1 million."
Multiple ticket options, available online at www.adtchampionship.com, allow fans a variety of other packages to choose from, including the Season and Terrace Badges. Both badges provide grounds admission during all of tournament week. The Terrace Badge permits fan access to the clubhouse patio at Trump International, where fans can purchase food and beverages.
The 11th annual ADT Championship, Nov. 16-19, features a select field of 32 players who have qualified by virtue of winning a Major, a ‘Winner’ event, have qualified based on their lofty position in the ADT Points standings or have been chosen as a wild-card based on merit.
For the sixth consecutive year, Trump International Golf Club, one of the most exclusive and highly rated modern golf facilities in the world, will host the $1.55 million, 72-hole ADT Championship, which concludes the LPGA Tour’s official season. Four-time ADT Championship winner Annika Sorenstam, the No. 1 golfer in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, will defend her title and attempt to become the first woman in LPGA history to win a first-place check of $1 million.
