The Tour’s hottest rookie, Nickent Staff Player Jeff Quinney, continued his amazing play this past week at the Nissan Open, earning his 4th Top 10 finish in his last 5 events. Quinney is Nickent’s only fully endorsed staff player on the PGA Tour, and so far he leads the PGA Tour in Top 10 finishes and in total eagles.
Quinney is ranked 8th on the PGA Tour money list and 9th in the FedEx Cup point standings. More importantly for Nickent, who claims to be the fastest growing golf club manufacturer in the business, Quinney has received major worldwide exposure for his outstanding play. Ryan Armour, another Nationwide Tour graduate carrying a Nickent staff bag on the PGA Tour this year, also scored a Top 10 for Nickent in only his third start on the "big tour."
The other PGA Tour pros earning top finishes with Nickent hybrids are not endorsed to wear a Nickent hat or carry a Nickent bag or club, but they are some the best players in the world. Their exceptional play, along with Quinney’s miraculous start, has Nickent leading the PGA Tour in hybrid Top 5 and Top 10 finishes in 2007.
Even without the big dollars, Nickent has earned 10 Top 10 finishes and 5 Top 5 placements in the first seven events of the PGA Tour.
The #2 ranked player in the world continued his dominant play in 2007 with his third Top 10 of the season at the Nissan Open. The player experienced a career year last year with a Nickent hybrid in the bag, earning 13 Top 10 finishes and over $7 million in earnings. The player currently ranks third in overall scoring average on the PGA Tour with a 69.06 average, with Quinney following closely behind in 5th at 69.41.
Another standout player contributing to Nickent’s fast start is the PGA Tour’s longest driver. He averages 315.5 yards per drive, many times hit with his Nickent 14-degree hybrid. GolfWorld magazine recently printed the following about his "bombs" with a Nickent hybrid in their February 16 article entitled Hybrid Happenings.
"Need proof? At the 2005 Dunlop Phoenix event in Japan, Bubba Watson used a 14-degree Nickent 3DX hybrid off the tee at the 323-yard 12th hole and drove the green. And during the third round of last year’s Buick Invitational, Watson averaged 318 yards off the tee using his hybrid on the two measured holes. That kind of performance is the exception, but the fact is more PGA Tour players are using hybrids as pseudo-fairway woods."
All in all, Nickent Golf continues to use their leadership position as the King of Hybridsâ?¢ to grow at a feverish pace, but the company not resting their laurels on one category. They are introducing the new state-of-the-art 4DX Driver, a new version of their ARC wedge and a couple of hot fairway woods in 2007, all designed by legendary club designer and Nickent Senior Vice President John Hoeflich. With Jeff Quinney and the other top players in the world leading the way for Nickent, all of the Nickent products are sure to be a big hit when they land the market in mid-March.
