Aquatrols continues support of The Institute’s Robert A. Moore Endowment
In honor of its founder, Aquatrols Corp. continues its support of the Aquatrols Robert A. Moore Endowment Fund, administered by The Enivironmental Institute for Golf, with a donation to continue research on assessing golf course management options under drought emergency.
"The results of this research will help superintendents, owners and boards understand what the impact to turf will be when drought emergency conditions are in effect," said GCSAA Director of Research Clark Throssell, Ph.D. "This research project, made possible by the support of Aquatrols, will identify the benefit of implementing individual management options to reduce stress on the turf and optimize performance under drought emergency conditions."
Aquatrols founder Robert A. Moore and his family made the donation on behalf of Aquatrols Feb. 23 at the Golf Industry Show in Anaheim, Calif. The purpose of the endowment fund is to support applied research in optimizing the growing environment for golf course turf. The endowment recognizes Moore’s and Aquatrols’ contribution and ongoing commitment since 1955 to optimizing the turf-growing environment through more effective use of water and other resources. The goal is to develop maintenance practices that result in quality golf course conditions with minimal impact on the environment and lowered consumption of resources.
"Being a leader means accepting responsibility for environmental stewardship — a role that Aquatrols takes very seriously," said Aquatrols President and CEO Tracy Jarman. "This research endowment fund is a fitting way to give back to the industry and recognize the contributions made by my father, Robert A. Moore and Aquatrols."
Aquatrols is a supporter at the Platinum Tee Club level of donors who contribute $5,000 or more annually to The Institute. Aquatrols is also a member of The Institute’s Governor’s Club for donating between $50,000 and $99,999 since 1987.
