PLANO, TEXAS, February 27, 2007 – Brittany Lang opened the eyes of many in the golf world when she burst onto the scene as an amateur at the 2005 U.S. Women’s Open. With a tie for second place that year, along with her very successful rookie season in 2006 on the LPGA Tour, Lang still has the attention of those watching her. The 21-year-old recently signed an endorsement deal with Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) to play the company’s golf clubs, wear its logo and carry the tour staff bag.
Her first full season as an LPGA Tour player, Lang recorded seven Top-10 finishes and ranked 21st on the 2006 Money List. Her best finishes in 2006 came at the Wegmans LPGA in June (T3) and the Mizuno Classic in November (T3). With an average driving distance of 269 yards, Lang ranked #6 on tour in the category. Additionally, she recorded 322 birdies during the year, ranking ninth in that category.
"We’re thrilled to have Brittany represent our company and play our clubs this season on the LPGA Tour," said Mr. Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and CEO. "She is an exciting player to watch and is on her way to becoming one of the top players on tour. What’s even better is the type of person she is and the quality family that is around her. She grew up not too far from our corporate headquarters so we’ve been able to watch her climb the amateur ranks and vault onto the pro stage in a very short amount of time. Her future is very bright and we’re excited to be associated with her."
After achieving great success on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit, Lang attended Duke University for two years where she won six collegiate tournaments and was named the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year. She won back-to-back ACC individual titles and was a member of the victorious 2004 U.S. Curtis Cup Team.
Lang is the most recent LPGA star to join the Adams Golf family of tour pros. In January, the company signed the defending HSBC World Match Play Champion, Brittany Lincicome, who ranked #14 on the 2006 Money List, along with 2005 Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Champion, Heather Young, who finished the 2006 season ranked #39 on the Money List.
