99% of Players on Tour Wear CHAMP Spikes
Marlborough, MA-February 28, 2007-CHAMP Spikes and the Duramed FUTURES Tour have renewed a long standing agreement that makes CHAMP the official spike on tour. Under the agreement, CHAMP will provide spikes to all of the players on tour.
"CHAMP Spikes is a long-time partner of the Duramed FUTURES Tour and as every player here can tell you, CHAMP is a fixture on our tour, providing the same top-quality spikes as offered to players on the LPGA Tour," said Zayra F. Calderon, President and CEO of the Duramed FUTURES Tour.
Not only does CHAMP provide spikes to all tour players but the company also sponsors an in season competition rewarding consistent low scores. The CHAMP Eastern Challenge runs for six weeks and points are awarded based on participation and performance
"CHAMP has renewed sponsorship contracts with us for many years. They were one of the first companies to offer a cash prize pool for our players, which launched a trend that has been adopted by several other official sponsors of the Tour," added Calderon. "CHAMP has made its mark in women’s professional golf, beginning with our players and moving on with them to the LPGA."
"The Futures Tour is a vital part of our marketing plan," said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP. "All of these women are trying to get their LPGA Tour cards. Our goal is to provide them with equipment they are comfortable with and are confident will provide them with the traction they need to get to the next level. Last year, the CHAMP Eastern Challenge had a 99% participation rate and the winner of the 2006 Challenge earned her card and is a member of the 2007 rookie class. Good habits are acquired early in a career so it’s no wonder why the majority of players on the LPGA Tour wear our spikes."
