After dominating the PGA Merchandise Show, they score big at Golf Industry Show
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — After dominating the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Players Turf Systems had the same impact at the Golf Industry Show, Feb. 22-24, in Anaheim, Calif.
"They were two fabulous weeks for us," expounded Ray Sever, Players Turf Systems Director of Sales. "We did extremely well at the Golf Industry Show. We picked up numerous Tee Line installations as well as several international projects in St. Croix and Mexico." (Tee Line is a non-filled nylon yarn fabric that is used in areas where natural grass is too difficult to grow or maintain).
The 2007 Golf Industry Show included the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association (GCSAA) and the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA).
A number of golf course owners and management companies who visited the booth were inquiring about the viability of 9-hole pitch and putt facilities.
"At Golf 20/20, the buzz was about short pitch and putt courses," Sever explained, "and we are extremely experienced in constructing green and tee areas at those facilities. We saw a lot of people who were planning in that direction for 2008 and 2009 at the PGA Merchandise Show and even more at the Golf Industry Show. Players Turf Systems is perfectly positioned for this growing trend."
Early next week, Players Turf Systems will complete a project at Kent State University.
"We’re installing a putting green with a chipping area," said Sever, "as well as Tee Lines for their outside and inside bays on the driving range. We’re really specialists in University practice facilities. Once we break ground, it doesn’t take us very long to completely install this type of facility. That’s another reason why we’re called upon to set up a facility. The owner knows that we deliver a quality product and deliver quickly."
The company recently completed projects at the University of Illinois, Iowa State, Michigan State, Lehigh University, and will begin a new indoor facility at the Cardinal Club for the University of Louisville next month.
